Album Review: Incubus: If Not Now, When?

Incubus
If Not Now, When?
2.5/5

Have you ever walked into a movie and realized how spectacular it was, yet still not like it. Writing? Great. Scenery? Awesome. Acting? Excellent? Cinematography? Unbelievable, in a good way. On a technical level probably one of the best of the decade yet... if given a choice you would skip it.

Well, that's this album. It sounds original and really good. Okay the correct word is beautiful. I hate, "beautiful" music. It's obvious a lot of effort was put into it. The lyrics are great. But still it's not kick ass. It's barely even rock. If you listen to it you can feel the artistry, and admire it, but it's missing something. To me it just felt too safe.

It also slightly hurts it that this is an album more or less written for a girl after a break up. Maybe that's why i don't like it. I'm not exactly part of its target audience.

There were a few standout tracks though. Check out "Thieves" and "Isadore"
